A campaign group has been formed to try and secure the restoration of Scotland’s largest glasshouse. The Winter Gardens glasshouse in Springburn Park is an ‘A’ listed building but has been derelict since the late 1980s and there is now real concern that it may end up being demolished by Glasgow City Council.
If this building were to go the same way as the Public Hall in Springburn it would be another great loss for Glasgow. The City Council are being reminded by the campaign group that Springburn Park, the Winter Gardens and the recently demolished hall were all donated to the people of Glasgow and it is irresponsible of the Council to allow this neglect to continue to the extent that demolition is the only option.
Please visit the group’s facebook page and support their campaign. Also please leave comments here and they will be picked up or forwarded to the group. Thank you.Share
