Torrance  Commonwealth  Celebration

Saturday 19th July 2014

10.30 am till 2.30 pm  

As the Queen’s Baton Relay journeys through East Dunbartonshire we would love you to join us!

FREE activities for ALL ages will be available at several locations in the village of Torrance. The main Torrance activity area is West Acre Park.  Victoria Bowling Club, Torrance Parish Church Tea Room & Hall as well as the Caldwell Halls will all be open and offering a variety of activities suitable for all.

The Queen’s Baton Relay will pass through the village shortly before noon.  To make sure we are all suitably prepared, entertainment & warm up activities will be held at the Village Square (opposite the village supermarket) from 11.30 am onwards.

Having all that fun will no doubt have made you feel peckish. Bring a packed lunch or alternatively visit one of the village eateries. There are three to choose from each with their own superb tasty menus!


There’s also the excellent Church Cafe where you’ll be spoilt for choice with an extensive and excellent selection of home baking washed down with tea, coffee or soft drinks. Afraid you’ll miss something?  Burgers, snacks as well as ice cream will be available to purchase at West Acre Park.

So what’s FREE at the various venues?fun

Inflatable bouncy gym fun, Basketball, Running Races, Tennis, Mixed up football, Netball, Hockey, Bowling, Badminton, Potted Sports,Smoothie Cycling, Table Tennis,

Racing Bikes, Duck Racing, Long Jump, Entertainment, Zumba Baton Warm Up, Commonwealth Crafts, Face Painting, Tattooing and much, much more!

Make sure you get a Commemorative Activity Card and mark on it all that you take part in!


Watch out for the special Aquatics Centre – a first for Torrance!
