Parents of children aged under five years are being asked for their views on early learning and childcare provision to help shape the services delivered in East Dunbartonshire.
Following on from the previous consultation in 2013, the Council is continuing to listen to parents and carers to ensure early learning and childcare provision provides choice and flexibility.
The Consultation period will run from Monday 19 October to Friday 30 November and the short questionnaire can be completed online.
In August 2014 legislation increased the entitlement of eligible children aged three and four to 600 hours of funded early learning and childcare and now more two year olds are also eligible. This includes children from households in receipt of certain benefits and the parent is seeking work.
Currently the Council offers the following provision:
- Sessional/Term time: Morning or afternoon sessions of three hours and ten minutes. Children can attend for up to five sessions per week during term time;
- Full day/Term time: 8am to 6pm with parents purchasing additional hours during term time. (Gartconner, Baljaffray, Milngavie, Meadowburn, Auchinairn);
- Full day/Full year: 8am to 6pm with parents purchasing additional hours 50 weeks of the year. (Lennoxtown, Hillhead, Clober, Castlehill, Cleddens Learning and Childcare Centre)
